NEW POLICIES

As a member of Upward Bound you have committed to two hours of tutoring per week AND attendance at one Workshop and one Social Activity per semester. It is your responsibility to plan these events around athletics, driver’s ed., work, etc..
*You were mailed a list of the Fall Semester’s workshops and social activities in early September so you could plan accordingly.

Here are the many places where you can look to see when and where these events are held:

ü READ the flyers we mail home to your house.
ü READ the e-mail reminders I send to your accounts.
ü READ the monthly newsletters we mail home to your house.
ü Log onto our BLOG: http://ubnmu.blogspot.com/
ü Check out the CALENDAR & BULLETINS on our Myspace page:
www.myspace.com/ubnmu

In years past, students have procrastinated and waited until December to fulfill requirements. This creates overfilled classrooms and ineffective presentations. Therefore, we have decided to create a new policy.

Certain workshops will be LIMITED TO THE FIRST 20 STUDENTS WHO R.S.V.P. (call) our office. These will include:

ü ON-LINE ETIQUETTE Workshop (11/10 MQT & 11/12 ISH)
ü Youthworks/Michigan Works Workshop (12/3 MQT)

What this means: If you have not yet fulfilled your workshop/activity requirement for this semester and do not R.S.V.P. to attend one of the above, you will not receive your tutoring stipend in December.

Time management is an essential skill for college, employment, and life. Please learn it now before it is too late.
